God’s plan for the soul is stated by the psalmist as “He
restores my soul” (Psm.22:3). The soul of man is a threefold
cord consisting of “the mind, the will and the emotions.” You
have heard it said that the world in which we live will turn
you upside down if you let it. Most people have just that: an
inverted soul in which the emotions dominate the mind and
the will. Man becomes a slave to his emotions.

The present work of the Holy Spirit is (1) to renew the mind
through God’s Word, (2) to learn to declare like Jesus,
“Not My will, but Your will be done”, and (3) to have the
emotions brought under the control of the Fruit of the Holy
Spirit:

THE
RENEWED BY THE SPIRIT

(“MY LAW IN YOUR MIND”)

THE
SUBJECTED TO GOD’S WILL

(“NOT MY WILL, BUT YOUR’S BE DONE”)

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
