If you are being swallowed up in all of the tradition-

based rhetoric of the Religious Right pertaining to

America’s destiny, I suggest you order these two

books that I wrote to refute that error:

(2008) (1990)

What does all this have to do with the Beatitude of hungering and thirsting after RIGHTEOUSNESS?

Unless God’s people make up their mind as to which of these two sets of goals God wants them to

pursue after, they remain in danger of being deceived with a counterfeit brand of the gospel. You

cannot harmonize two different kingdoms with two different sets of stated goals to establish a reason

for being. Jesus warned that you cannot serve two masters (Matt. 6:24). Are we to set as our

priorities: RIGHTEOUSNESS, OR LIFE,
                  AND PEACE, LIBERTY,
                     AND JOY AND THE PURSUIT
                                                         OF HAPPINESS
            IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

(as stated in the Scriptures) (as stated in the Constitution)

We are clearly told that, if we serve Christ in focusing upon “Righteousness, peace and joy”, such
service is “acceptable to God” (Rom. 14:17). It is also clearly stated that God’s Kingdom does not
consist of priorities such as “food and drink”, which I think, includes the pursuit of similar physical
things that constitute “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Heed this warning dear Christian:

        “GIVEN SUFFICIENT TIME, CHERISHED TRADITIONS
                        BECOME DOGMATIC BELIEFS.”

At Jesus’ first coming, He found the Jewish religious leaders swallowed up by their cherished traditions
to the point that the Word of God no longer had any effect. I fear that as we approach the Second

Coming of Christ, this same charge Jesus laid on the Jews may be spoken against America’s all too
politically minded Christian leaders who are motivated by their own brand
                                                     of cherished traditions:

“ONE NATION UNDER GOD” “…THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT
