MAIN LOCAL MISSION OUTREACH:
In outlining our mission outreach programs,
we must not overlook the mission field
closest to us, our “own Jerusalem.”
Jesus said missions were to begin in
Jerusalem, then into Judea, all of Samaria,
and then to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
The “Jerusalem” in which Apostolic Missions is to
function is right here in Denver Colorado. Paul reminds us
to “remember the poor” (Gal. 2:10). We have chosen the
Denver Rescue Mission as a worthy vehicle to accomplish
our responsibility to help the poor that exist all around us.
We cannot alleviate poverty, but we can show compassion
in a tangible way by sharing of our abundance with those
in need:
“DEFEND THE POOR AND FATHERLESS;
DO JUSTICE TO THE AFFLICTED AND NEEDY.
DELIVER THE POOR AND NEEDY;
FREE THEM FROM THE HAND OF THE WICKED.”
Ps 82:3-4
AND GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE ALL GRACE ABOUND TOWARD YOU,
THAT YOU, ALWAYS HAVING ALL SUFFICIENCY IN ALL THINGS,
MAY HAVE AN ABUNDANCE FOR EVERY GOOD WORK.
AS IT IS WRITTEN:
"HE HAS DISPERSED ABROAD, HE HAS GIVEN TO THE POOR;
HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ENDURES FOREVER.”
