“THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP”
In the passages below, Jesus outlines the dual
mandates that spell out what is the cost of
discipleship. They are “LABOR and WARFARE.”
The book of Nehemiah confirms the importance of
labor and warfare as:
…WITH ONE HAND THEY WORKED AT
CONSTRUCTION, AND WITH THE OTHER HELD
A WEAPON. EVERY ONE OF THE BUILDERS HAD
HIS SWORD GIRDED AT HIS SIDE AS HE BUILT.”
