                 CORPORATE PRIORITY:
      BEING BUILT TOGETHER INTO GOD’S

                                               “YOU ALSO, AS LIVING STONES
ARE BEING BUILT UP A SPIRITUAL HOUSE...”

                                                                  1 Pet. 2:5
“BUT CHRIST AS A SON OVER HIS OWN HOUSE,

                                                   WHOSE HOUSE WE ARE...”
                                                                   Heb. 3:6

“NOW THEREFORE, YOU ARE NO LONGER STRANGERS AND FOREIGNERS,
BUT FELLOW CITIZENS WITH THE SAINTS AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD.

HAVING BEEN BUILT ON THE FOUNDATION OF THE APOSTLES AND THE PROPHETS,
JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF BEING THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE, IN WHOM THE WHOLE BUILDING,

BEING JOINED TOGETHER, GROWS INTO A HOLY TEMPLE IN THE LORD, IN WHOM YOU
ALSO ARE BEING BUILT TOGETHER FOR A HABITATION OF GOD IN THE SPIRIT.”
                                                                Eph. 2:18-22

In our on-going study of God’s (12) biblical priorities for His people, we have come to the last four which are
corporate identities: (1) “Christ’s Spiritual House, (2) the Church of Jesus Christ, (3) the Body of Jesus Christ,
and (4) the Espoused Bride of Christ.” By corporate identities I make a distinction between the first eight
priorities that were individually achievable and these last four areas which require our involvement with other
believers. Look again at the above passage from Ephesians Chapter Two, and note the mandate of “being
joined together” and “being built together.” Peter also conveys this plurality of involvement in referring to us as
“living stones...being built up a spiritual house” (1 Pet. 2:5). It takes more than one stone to built a house.

The physical house God required of Israel in
the wilderness had a building plan as given to

Moses with the specific warning, “See that
you make all things according to the pattern

shown to you on the mountain” (Heb. 8:5).
The spiritual house of Jesus Christ

also has a specified building plan that
was given to the early church.
