2. NCONDITIONAL ELECTION OF MAN BY GOD
WHAT CALVINISM BELIEVES ABOUT ELECTION:
Take time to carefully read
these three sections of belief
from Calvinism’s theological
“Confessions of Faith”.
As I stated in our introductory pages,
Calvinism exalts the sovereignty of God
to heights that disqualify God from being
The Righteous Judge.
God is certainly sovereign. However,
the Scriptures teach that God judges in
righteousness, not in sovereignty. Note
section 5 of this creed says that the
election of those that are to be saved is
“without any foresight of faith, or good
works, or perseverance in them,
or any other thing in the creature as
conditions or causing Him” (to elect the “Objections to Calvinism as it is” by R. S. Foster, pg 46.
individuals unto salvation).
In other words, God has sovereignly ordained that only some are to be chosen as “the elect”, and the
basis of that decision is not by His supernatural ability of foreknowledge of man’s actions or deeds.
However, Section 6 and 7 clearly says “Neither are any other redeemed by Christ” and that God has
sovereignly chosen to condemn the rest to dishonor and wrath FOR their sins. This is a serious
contradiction in face of the fact that the Scriptures say of God’s judgments that, “There is no respect of
persons with God” (Rom. 2:11 KJV). The above declarations (5-7) of Calvinism make God to be a respecter
of persons in judgment and therefore an unrighteous judge: SECTION SIX-SEVEN
SECTION FIVE

others before the foundation of

or anything worthy within them.
If God rejects some to dishonor and wrath for their sins, how is it that He accepts the others without any
faith, good works, perseverance or any condition in them? This is a double standard for they too have
sinned. Why not condemn them also for their sins? Righteous judgment requires that either all are
condemned for their sins or all have the opportunity to be saved from their sins. What Calvinism states in
Section 7 is not “glorious justice”, it is horrible injustice! There has to be a righteous basis for accepting
some and rejecting others, and it is not the sovereignty of God! The problem which creates this double
standard lies in Calvinism’s rejection of God’s supernatural capability of FOREKNOWLEDGE. How is it
that God knows the beginning from the end? Calvinism says it is because by His sovereignty He is
controlling all things on the earth, every creature, including you and me. We saw that statement earlier:
““EEVVEERRYY AACCTTIIOONN AANNDD MMOOTTIIOONN OOFF EEVVEERRYY CCRREEAATTUURREE IISS GGOOVVEERRNNEEDD BBYY TTHHEE HHIIDDDDEENN CCOOUUNNSSEELL OOFF GGOODD,,

Either God is able to foresee all events of the future or He is causing all events of the future, but if the
latter is true as Calvinism says it is, then God would be the author even of sin! Think it through saints!
Is God able to see into the future all things that are going to happen, or is He sovereignly preordaining
and then manipulating, causing and controlling all things to happen?
