“…HE IS LIKE A REFINER’S FIRE…HE WILL SIT AS A REFINER AND A PURIFIER OF SILVER…
HE WILL PURIFY …AND PURGE THEM AS SILVER,

THAT THEY MAY OFFER TO THE LORD AN OFFERING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS”
                                                                              Mal. 3:2

           “LET US HAVE “FOR THE

          GRACE GRACE

BY WHICH WE MAY OF GOD THAT BROUGHT
SERVE GOD ACCEPTABLY…” SALVATION HAS APPEARED TO

Heb. 12:28 ALL MEN TEACHING US…”

                                                 Titus 2:11

It is extremely important to consider the sober fact that both of the presentations of God as “a
consuming fire” and as God seeking to “purify for Himself” His own people zealous for good works, in
context, are teachings about THE GRACE OF GOD. What might I ask, has happened to the
presentation of this purifying aspect placed on the recipients of God’s grace in modern-day teaching
today? Where is the emphasis on the message of Grace that produces believers who serve God
acceptably? Where is the kind of grace teaching that makes God’s people to be zealous for good
works? The answer lies in the lack of concern for preaching the whole counsel of God as did Paul:

“…I TESTIFY TO YOU THIS DAY THAT I AM INNOCENT OF THE BLOOD OF Acts 20:26-31
ALL MEN. FOR I HAVE NOT SHUNNED TO DECLARE TO YOU THE WHOLE
COUNSEL OF GOD. THEREFORE TAKE HEED TO YOURSELVES AND TO ALL

THE FLOCK, AMONG WHICH THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS MADE YOU
OVERSEERS, TO SHEPHERD THE CHURCH OF GOD WHICH HE PURCHASED
WITH HIS OWN BLOOD. FOR I KNOW THIS, THAT AFTER MY DEPARTURE
SAVAGE WOLVES WILL COME IN AMONG YOU, NOT SPARING THE FLOCK.
ALSO FROM AMONG YOURSELVES MEN WILL RISE UP, SPEAKING PERVERSE
THINGS, TO DRAW AWAY THE DISCIPLES AFTER THEMSELVES. THEREFORE
WATCH, AND REMEMBER THAT FOR THREE YEARS I DID NOT CEASE TO

WARN EVERYONE NIGHT AND DAY WITH TEARS.”

Such apostolic oversight is greatly lacking in modern-day Christianity. Paul’s prophetic warning of men
rising up and speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after themselves is more the norm

today. Jude also warned the early church about the perversion that would take place concerning the
presentation of the grace of God:

“BELOVED, WHILE I WAS VERY DILIGENT TO WRITE TO YOU
CONCERNING OUR COMMON SALVATION, I FOUND IT NECESSARY
TO WRITE TO YOU EXHORTING YOU TO CONTEND EARNESTLY FOR
THE FAITH WHICH WAS ONCE FOR ALL DELIVERED TO THE SAINTS.
FOR CERTAIN MEN HAVE CREPT IN UNNOTICED, WHO LONG AGO
WERE MARKED OUT FOR THIS CONDEMNATION, UNGODLY MEN,
WHO TURN THE GRACE OF OUR GOD INTO LEWDNESS AND DENY
Jude 3-4 THE ONLY LORD GOD AND OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.”

Unless we embrace the whole “pure Word of God” we will be found lacking in “purity of heart.”
The quality of one produces the quality of the other. Diminish the contents of the message of the grace
of God, and the lack of purity of heart in the believer will be the result.
