In summarizing the believer’s relationship to Jesus Christ,
the phrase “in Him” was a repetitious favorite of the
apostle Paul and the apostle John. In Paul’s 12 epistles
he used the phrase 26 times. John also repetitiously used
this descriptive phrase 11 times in his first epistle.

Perhaps this one usage by Paul in the Book of Acts best
sums up what is to be the normal Christian life here on
earth; “For in Him we live and move and have our being”
(Acts 17:28). As followers of Christ, we must all ask
ourselves whether this is a description of how we live our
lives on earth surrounded by a world preferring to feed
upon the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

It would be my suggestion to you that you use the listings below to read and meditate in both Paul and
John’s record of this Holy Spirit inspired phrase, “in Him.” It is beyond our limited capability to enumerate
them for you in this newsletter. If you would take the time to do so, I believe you will be greatly challenged
in your walk with God as a follower of Jesus Christ.

Paul’s usage of These phrases of John’s usage of
“in Him” can be used as
“IN HIM” a measuring stick of the “IN HIM”

                                              God and His kingdom.

In order to stimulate your interest in this vast and all encompassing subject, consider the magnitude of a

few of the times Paul uses this phrase:

The foundation of the New Covenant is the revelation

that Jesus is the mediator of “…a better covenant, which

FOR ALL was established on better promises” (Heb. 8:6). Paul’s
THE PROMISES revelation given to us in this passage from 2 Cor.1:20 is
that all of God’s promises find their fulfillment “in Him”

ARE YES, AND and “through us”. We are exhorted to “…imitate those
who through faith and patience inherit the promises”

“YOU ARE AMEN, (Heb. 6:12). Why so? Because (1) God’s “…exceedingly
COMPLETE TO THE GLORY great and precious promises” supply all things
necessary for a life of godliness and (2) the promises of
