The “AND” with which the isolated verse begins compels us to TTTHTHHEHEEEPDPDRIROIEAOEACCPEPTESTUSUFRFIRIETET??
consider the words spoken above it. The context begins in
verse 27

We need not be a rocket scientist to see that this verse has
nothing to do with the rapture, but rather has everything to do
with the Second Coming of Christ “immediately AFTER the
tribulation of those days…” Is the rapture “after the tribulation?”
Does the rapture take place by the hand of angels sent forth to
gather or by the hand of Jesus Himself descending from
heaven? Does the rapture depict Jesus coming “on clouds of
heaven with power and great glory” or as a “thief in the night?”

Yes, this verse does mention “the elect” being “gathered together” as well as the use of the sounding of a
“trumpet.” However, the church is not the only “elect” mentioned in Scripture, Israel is also God’s “elect”

“FOR JACOB MY SERVANT’S SAKE, AND ISRAEL MY ELECT.” Isa. 45:4

Neither is “the trumpet” the exclusive property of the elect of the church. Jesus does “descend with…the
trumpet of God…” as stated in the account of the rapture in 1Thess. 4:16-18. However, there is another
use of the trumpet by God to “gather together” His other “elect” which is Israel:

“AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THAT DAY THAT THE LORD WILL THRESH…
AND YOU WILL BE GATHERED ONE BY ONE, O YOU CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.

SO IT SHALL BE IN THAT DAY THAT THE GREAT TRUMPET WILL BE BLOWN, THEY WILL COME…
AND SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE HOLY MOUNT AT JERUSALEM.” Isa 27:12-13

Notice Isaiah calls this trumpet “the great trumpet.” What is it called in Matthew Chapter 24 but “a great
sound of a trumpet” (vs.31). This is not the trumpet sound of the rapture of the gathering together of the
elect of the church, but rather the gathering together of the elect of Israel at the year of Jubilee:

“THEN YOU SHALL CAUSE THE TRUMPET OF THE JUBILEE TO SOUND ON THE TENTH DAY OF THE SEVENTH
MONTH; ON THE DAY OF ATONEMENT YOU SHALL MAKE THE TRUMPET TO SOUND…AND EACH OF YOU
SHALL RETURN TO HIS POSSESSION, AND EACH OF YOU SHALL RETURN TO HIS FAMILY.” Lev. 25:9-10

The scripture is exacting.“The great trumpet” will be blown on the 6th Feast day given in Leviticus 23, the
Day of Atonement, in the year of Jubilee. A comparison to Lev. 23:26-32, Zech.12:10-14, Mat. 24:30 and
Rev. 1:7, will confirm that the Day of Atonement (6th Feast) will be the exact day upon which the Second
Coming of Christ will take place. If God is so exacting about the Second Coming of Christ, rather than
espousing the unbiblical claim, “no man know the day or the hour” for the rapture, we need only back up to
the 5th Feast of Leviticus 23, the Feast of Trumpets, to find the probable “exact day” when the rapture will
take place. Jesus is fulfilling these feasts one-by-one on their appointed day. Four are completed, three
remain to be fulfilled. If the Feast of Trumpets is not the day of the rapture, what event does it represent in
the ministry of Christ yet-to-be fulfilled? Why would only the rapture not be typified by the Feasts?
