TOBER 2006~ 75

                      “THE DAY AND THE HOUR”

                                 ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES

OUR LAST NEWSLETTER DEALT WITH THE
                       ERRONEOUS APPLICATION OF THE PASSAGE,
“NO MAN KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR”

TO THE EVENT KNOWN AS THE RAPTURE.
                         THIS MONTH’S NEWSLETTER IS DEDICATED
                          TO REVEALING WHAT SCRIPTURE STATES
AS BEING THE VERY DAY AND HOUR UPON

WHICH THE RAPTURE WILL TAKE PLACE.

From the outset, please note that I did NOT say above that I know the very date upon which the rapture will
take place, but rather that “the day and the hour” of that event is revealed in the Scriptures. This newsletter
is not about “date setting”, but rather is aimed at the wide-spread ignorance of what the Scriptures contain
pertaining to the event known as “the rapture.” If you have been fed a steady diet of, “no man knows the day
or the hour” and therefore believe that “Jesus can come at any moment in time”, you need to read the
September 2006 newsletter posted on our website. This month’s issue will build on the foundation laid in that
previous newsletter. Unless you deal with the erroneous application of Matthew 24:36 to the rapture, you
may find yourself as ill-prepared for this event as are the foolish virgins of Matthew 25 which Jesus leaves
behind at His coming, and be found like the unfaithful servant described in Luke 12:41-48 who believed,
“My master is delaying His coming,” and therefore returned to a lifestyle of sinful behavior such as the
unregenerate of the world practices. Jesus soberly forewarns all such servants of His that are unfaithful:

“THE MASTER OF THAT SERVANT WILL COME ON A DAY WHEN HE IS NOT LOOKING FOR
HIM, AND AT AN HOUR WHEN HE IS NOT AWARE, AND WILL CUT HIM IN TWO
AND APPOINT HIM HIS PORTION WITH THE UNBELIEVERS.” Luke 12:46

We need only to contrast the above with Paul’s words of comfort to the faithful believers:

“FOR THE LORD HIMSELF WILL DESCEND FROM HEAVEN WITH A SHOUT…WITH THE TRUMPET OF GOD. AND
THE DEAD WILL RISE FIRST. THEN WE WHO ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN SHALL BE CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH
THEM IN THE CLOUDS TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR. AND THUS SHALL WE ALWAYS BE WITH THE LORD.
THEREFORE COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS. BUT CONCERNING THE TIMES AND THE SEASONS,
BRETHREN, YOU HAVE NO NEED THAT I SHOULD WRITE TO YOU. FOR YOU YOURSELVES KNOW PERFECTLY

THAT THE DAY OF THE LORD SO COMES AS A THIEF IN THE NIGHT…
BUT YOU, BRETHREN, ARE NOT IN DARKNESS, SO THAT THIS DAY SHOULD OVERTAKE YOU AS A THIEF…
FOR GOD DID NOT APPOINT US TO WRATH, BUT TO OBTAIN SALVATION THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.”

                                                                    1 Thess. 4:16-18, 5:1-9 excerpts
