WISE VIRGINS FOOLISH VIRGINS

The parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins (Matt. 25:1-13) states that the difference between the wise
virgins that are taken and the foolish virgins that are left behind is the possession of oil vs. the lack of
oil in their lamps. It is important to note that both groups of virgins have lamps. What are the lamps?

They represent the possession of the Word of God:

“YOUR WORD WHAT IS THE BASIS OF SEPARATION
IS A LAMP TO MY FEET AND A LIGHT TO MY PATH.” BETWEEN THE WISE AND THE FOOLISH?

Although both the wise and the foolish virgins have OIL…
lamps to light their way to meet the Bridegroom, only the OIL…
wise virgins have oil for their lamps. I believe there is
sufficient evidence in the Scriptures to conclude that the “YOUR WORD
oil in this parable represents the Holy Spirit who IS A LAMP TO MY FEET
authored the Word of God. He alone gives illumination
to the lamp by His anointing and understanding of what AND A LIGHT TO

THAT SHINES IN A DARK PLACE…KNOWING THIS FIRST, THAT NO PROPHECY OF SCRIPTURE IS OF ANY

PRIVATE INTERPRETATION, FOR PROPHECY NEVER CAME BY THE WILL OF MAN,
BUT HOLY MEN OF GOD SPOKE AS THEY WERE MOVED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.”
2 Pet. 1:19-21

It is quite possible to read the Word of God selectively or intellectually, and thereby not allowing the
Holy Spirit to illuminate it’s true meaning. We are warned:

“NOW WE HAVE RECEIVED, NOT THE SPIRIT OF THE WORLD, BUT THE SPIRIT WHO IS FROM GOD,
THAT WE MIGHT KNOW THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN FREELY GIVEN TO US BY GOD.

THESE THINGS WE SPEAK, NOT IN WORDS WHICH MAN’S WISDOM TEACHES BUT WHICH THE HOLY SPIRIT
TEACHES, COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL. NOW THE NATURAL MAN DOES NOT RECEIVE

THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD, FOR THEY ARE FOOLISHNESS TO HIM;
NOR CAN HE KNOW THEM, BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.”

1 Cor. 2:12-14

“BELOVED, DO NOT BELIEVE EVERY SPIRIT, BUT TEST THE SPIRITS, WHETHER THEY ARE OF GOD;
BECAUSE MANY FALSE PROPHETS HAVE GONE OUT INTO THE WORLD….

WE ARE OF GOD. HE WHO KNOWS GOD HEARS US; HE WHO IS NOT OF GOD DOES NOT HEAR US.
BY THIS WE KNOW THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH AND THE SPIRIT OF ERROR.”
1 Jn. 4:1,6

Why are the foolish virgins left behind? They have no oil (Holy Spirit) in their lamps (the Word of God).
It is my conviction that they have been seduced with the presentation of “another Jesus, a different
gospel and a different Spirit.” Let us now look at these three stated means by which Satan seeks to
deceive “Eve”, the espoused Bride of Christ:
