As a pastor/teacher, I am most grieved to see and hear how it is that much of Christianity interacts with
those in darkness. The Religious Right hammers them with all kinds of self-righteous, judgmental
statements of hypocrisy. Recently I saw an anti-Religious Right bumper sticker that stated:

“I WISH THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT WOULD
FOCUS UPON THEIR OWN FAMILY!”

Not a bad idea at all! If all born-again Christians were truly demonstrating the lifestyle depicted in the
Beatitudes, perhaps we would not have this kind of cynical response from so many of the children of
darkness toward Christianity. God didn’t instruct us in His Word to tell them what to do, but rather to
show them a better way.

Having established that the prophetic word reveals what WILL happen in the future, let us look at a
prophetic overview that speaks of what lies ahead for both the children of Light as well as the children
of darkness:

The goal of the bulk of our newsletters for this coming year will be to bring a thorough understanding to
what is depicted above. We will seek to examine in-depth each of the Beatitudes found in Matthew
Chapter Five, as well as establishing the opposite “attitude” that governs this present world that is
under the sway of the Wicked One (1 Jn. 5:19). Unfortunately, as we shall see, there are many passages
of Scripture that reveal that there are professing children of Light that still operate in the same manner
as do the children of darkness. This is true because they have chosen to remain in a state of
conformity to this world rather than becoming transformed by the renewing of their mind with the
Beatitude principles that were given to govern the Kingdom of God.
