To gain additional revelation about these six subjects, we need only to sub-divide them
into two specific groups containing three each. Those two distinct categories I have labeled as
“ADVISORY” and “ABSOLUTES.” Notice the illustration of two different kinds of “street signs” that we
encounter every day as best typifying what these categories represent. In our daily driving adventures we
can choose to ignore “advisory” signs such as “dead end street” or “speed bump ahead.” However, to do
so will cause us to travel the same paths over again as we obliviously head up dead end streets, and we
will surely experience a “bumpy ride” if we don’t pay attention to those speed bump warnings.
It is not difficult to see the parallels. If we choose to ignore the more serious warning signs that are
“absolutes” such as “stop” and “do not enter,” we will find that our choices can have costly ramifications
and unpleasant encounters with the civil authorities. Such natural illustrations are applicable to our
spiritual walk with God as well.

God’s Word tells us, “There are many plans in The Ten Commandments were not given with the

our spiritual walk. We do not always have all Paul goes on in these verses to warn of the serious
