“THE TESTIMONY OF THE LORD IS SURE,
MAKING WISE THE SIMPLE.”
Psalm 19:7
Look carefully at these two passages of TESTIMONIES TESTIMONIES
Scripture.
One carries a very positive promise while the “FOR WHATEVER THINGS “NNOW ALL THESE TTHINGSS

can easily be overlaid upon these passages as THAT WE THROUGH AS THEY ALSO LUSTTED…
conveying “the moral to the story.” THE PATIENCE AND COMFORT NOW ALL THESE TTHHINGS
Notice both passages carry a similar statement OF THE SCRIPTURES HAPPENED TO TTHEM

The above passages convey that it is the recorded HEBREWS 11:5 HEBREWS 11:39
“TESTIMONY” of the various saints that Hebrews 11, the
chapter of the heroes of faith, is emphasizing. These are
summarizations of lives lived for God. Even Revelation begins
by stating that it is the record of “the TESTIMONY of Jesus
Christ” (Rev. 1:2).
The Greek word translated as “TESTIMONY” is also translated as “WITNESS.” God has appointed the
church to “…be witnesses to Me…” (Acts 1:8). We all have a “testimony” (a witness) before God and before
the world. We are to learn from what is recorded as “the testimonies of the Lord.” We are to emulate the
positive “testimonies/witness” and avoid following the example of the negative.
