A RECIPE FOR MEEKNESS To me, as a teacher of God’s Word, the contents of
BEFORE GOD (Psm. 37) Psalm 37:1-11 can be summed up with these brief
conclusions about having meekness before God:
     1. “TRUST IN THE LORD”
     2. “FEED ON HIS FAITHFULNESS” THE MEEK CEASE TO CARE ABOUT WHAT IS IMPORTANT
     3. “DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD” TO SELF. HIS PRIDEFUL FLESH AND SELF-EXALTING WILL
     4. “COMMIT YOUR WAY TO THE LORD” ARE BEING CRUCIFIED DAILY.
     5. “REST IN THE LORD” THE MEEK SEEK TO CULTIVATE SEEING EVERYTHING IN
     6. “WAIT PATIENTLY FOR HIM” LIFE FROM GOD’S PERFECT PERSPECTIVE.
     7. “CEASE FROM ANGER-FORSAKE WRATH” THE MEEK SEEK ONLY TO SERVE GOD’S REVEALED
8 “DO NOT FRET-IT ONLY CAUSES HARM” PURPOSE IN EVERY SITUATION THAT LIFE PRESENTS.
THE MEEK TRUST IN GOD TOTALLY AND DO NOT SEEK TO
DO GOD’S WORK FOR HIM. THE MEEK HAVE ASSURANCE
THAT GOD ALONE IS ABLE TO DO THAT WHICH MERE
                                            MAN CANNOT POSSIBLY DO.

So far we have only looked at one kind of meekness
that describes our VERTICAL relationship with God.

There is another form of meekness pertaining to The two together form a depiction
our HORIZONTAL relationship with men. of the CROSS life for a believer.

TO LIVE AS TO LIVE AS

(MAINTAINING As with His grace, (MAINTAINING
A PROPER ATTITUDE God expects the A PROPER ATTITUDE

TOWARD GOD) Beatitude of TOWARD MEN)
I am sure you would agree that it meekness to have a
is far easier to show meekness dual impact on the TO LIVE AS
before God than it is to manifest TO HAVE
    meekness before men. However, believer
God expects a dual manifestation “ITS REFLECTION
of meekness: (1) before God and IN THE LIFE…”
    (2) before men.
    Consider Strong’s definition of grace.
It too has a dual manifestation.

               TO LIVE AS

                  TO HAVE
     “DIVINE INFLUENCE ON

             THE HEART…”
